About
Hi there!
Welcome to Mallory Brooks Photography.
I am excited to share my love of photography with you and to help you find pieces of art for your home, office or business with my colorful and unique fine art prints and custom framed art, whether its providing the perfect pop of color for your gallery wall or a stunning centerpiece that evokes feelings and memories you can design an entire room around.
What is unique about my photography is that no AI or Photoshop is involved in making my art; what you see has been done in-camera or prior to development. I shoot on film, which gives me the freedom to play and experiment with its unpredictable nature.
I like to use a variety of experimental analog techniques, especially one called film soup–which is a process in which I soak film in substances like boiling water, salt, dish soap, matcha and more, taking the film to the point of destruction. Many shots don’t survive the process, but the ones that do create vibrant, unexpected and one-of-a-kind photographs of familiar subjects and places.
I am based in Atlanta, Georgia, but I travel all over the world for inspiration and to make my art. In my print shop, you’ll find fine art prints celebrating my love of exploration in cultures and landscapes near and far, from Atlanta, Los Angeles and Miami to Mexico, Peru and Spain (a list that is continually growing). I also have a thing for palm trees, which can be traced back to my Florida roots (I’m from Tallahassee).
As a small business, your support is helping me realize my dream of living and working as an artist. Before taking my passion for photography full-time in 2020, my career was in advertising. Since then, I have exhibited in group shows at Atlanta Photography Group, Cat Eye Creative and Kai Lin Art in Atlanta; the Experimental Photo Festival in Barcelona, Spain; and art festivals across the southeast. I’ve also been featured on City Lights With Lois Reitzes’ “Speaking of Art” series, in Professional Photographer magazine, and named one of Analogue Forever Magazine’s 16 Film Soup Photographers You Need to Know in 2023.
I want to thank you for stopping by and considering my art for your walls. I hope you find something that makes you happy!
